Kukui Trail (Kauai)

Date: 04/09/2015

Location: Waimea Canyon State Park, Kauai
Distance: 5 miles RT to Waimea River
Elevation: 2000ft
My last hike on the island to conclude this wonderful trip, and was only able to do about 1/2 of the trail due to resort check out time. The drive and direction to TH was very simple from Poipu. To my delight the view was almost constant and varying as one descends towards the valley floor.

Turn around time, last look into the valley at 1+ mile mark and 1000ft down.

As advertised, climbing back on this mostly exposed path was arduous, yet the sweat and burning thigh were worthy price for this grand canyon trail.
