St. Mary and Virginia Falls

Date: 08/02/2013

Location: Glacier National Park

Distance: 3 miles RT

Elevation Gain: 400ft

This was the actual first hike for me in GNP (one day before my epiphany at Grinnell Glacier).  It was very pleasant and waterfalls beautiful.

Trail to both Falls are under forest canopy, and reach St.  Mary’s Fall under one mile and the more impressive Virginia Fall in another mile.  Tim and Katy had their first, albeit brief wildlife encounter on the trail – a moose.
