Colville National Forest dotted with larches

From Spokane, it took 2 hours to TH. Hwy 20 from Kettle Falls, nestled in the National Forest, was beautiful. FR 2030 (Albian Hill Rd.) is a dirt road but in excellent shape. The road signs to TH are all clearly marked. Privy and nice parking area at TH.
On a sunny crisp Friday AM, I was the only hiker to Wapaloosie summit and then south for 1.2 miles on Kettle Crest Trail. The trail is snow free, and well maintained.  The trail is pleasant, but not in the same league as Cascades or Rockies.
