Valley of the Wind
Distance: 7.4 km circuit
This walk takes hikers into the Rocks of Kata Tjuta
Above, the first lookout reached at 1 km, and continuing further we were approaching the innards of Kata Tjuta
Karingana Lookout at 2.5km
We were quickly thrust out of the Rocks’ shadows. Below looking at the gorge we traversed.
This was the Uluru winter. Temperature was a comfortable 20 C (70F). Virtually in all other seasons, this walk poses hyperthermia and dehydration threat. The walk is closed if temperature hits 36 C.
Distance: 2.6 Km RT
This walk highlights the sheerness of the rock wall, and a rare green garden with trickling stream at its terminus. For a proper perspective, note the specks of human at the base of the rock wall in the last photo.
